A thorough clean that reaches the details

Deep cleaning for flats and villas

Deep cleaning isn’t just regular cleaning that takes longer — it’s different in purpose and method. Day-to-day cleaning keeps a home looking tidy; deep cleaning reaches what has built up over months: grease on kitchen cupboards and behind the cooker, limescale in bathrooms and on taps, dust on top of cupboards and behind furniture, and dirt in tile grout and window corners.

Many families book it before Ramadan and Eid, after a sandstorm, before guests arrive, or simply when the home needs a fresh start. With SaudiCleaning you describe your home once — its type, number of rooms, condition and what you want to focus on — and your request reaches cleaning companies in your city who contact you with offers.

What deep cleaning usually includes

Scope varies between companies, but a good offer spells out things like:

  • Kitchen

Cupboards inside and out once emptied, worktops and the wall behind the cooker, the hood outside, the oven and fridge outside, the sink and taps.

  • Bathrooms

Removing limescale from tiles, grout, taps, mirrors and shower screens, and cleaning toilets, basins and cabinets.

  • Rooms and majlis

Dusting surfaces, lights, doors and handles, cleaning under and behind beds and furniture where possible, and wiping switches.

  • Windows and doors

Cleaning glass on the inside, frames and the tracks where dust collects, and internal doors.

  • Floors

Washing tiles and marble and cleaning grout and corners, and vacuuming fitted carpet.

  • Balconies and roof

If you ask: sweeping and washing balconies, small yards and the roof floor.

What it usually doesn’t include

Some jobs are priced separately or need a different team, so ask before agreeing: machine cleaning of sofas, carpets and curtains, floor polishing and marble buffing, exterior facades and glass at height, water tank cleaning, and cleaning air conditioners inside, which is a separate service provided by AC technicians.

Deep cleaning also doesn’t usually include shifting heavy furniture, removing old permanent stains that won’t come out, or fixing leaks and faults. A clear offer states these limits so there are no surprises on the day.

How the job is done, and how long it takes

The team usually starts with a quick walk-through with the owner to confirm priorities, then works from top to bottom: ceilings, lights and the tops of cupboards first, then walls and surfaces, and floors last, so dust doesn’t fall on what’s already clean. The team often splits between the kitchen, bathrooms and rooms so the job finishes in one day.

How long it takes depends on the size, the number of rooms and bathrooms, the condition of the home and the number of workers. A small, tidy flat can be done in part of a day; a large villa that hasn’t been deep cleaned for a long time may need a full day with a bigger team, or two days. Ask the company for an estimate of hours and workers in its offer so you can plan your day.

How to prepare for cleaning day

  • Empty kitchen and bathroom cupboards if they’re included, or agree with the company who will.
  • Gather small items, papers and valuables in one safe place.
  • Say which rooms or areas you don’t want entered, and your priorities if time is limited.
  • Make sure water and electricity are available, and parking if the team needs it.
  • Tell the company if there’s a baby or someone sensitive to smells at home, so suitable products are used.
  • Keep pets away from the work areas.

Materials, equipment and team size

Most cleaning companies bring their own products and equipment: vacuum cleaners, tools for high places, cloths and mops, and cleaning products suited to each surface. But it isn’t a fixed rule — some offers assume the customer provides the products. That’s why the request form asks about it; confirm it in the written offer.

The number of workers depends on the size of the home and the time available, and you can ask for a female or male team as suits your household — many companies offer both. If you have products you prefer or delicate surfaces such as natural marble or wood, mention them in advance.

An important reminder: never mix cleaning products, especially bleach with any other cleaner, as this can release harmful gases. Ventilate while cleaning and keep products out of children’s reach.

Questions to ask the company

  • Exactly what does the cleaning include, room by room? And what doesn’t it include?
  • Do you bring the products and equipment? Are they suitable for marble and wood?
  • How many workers, roughly how many hours, and is the team female or male?
  • Are the workers your employees with valid residency and documents?
  • What happens if an area isn’t cleaned properly — do you come back to re-clean it?
  • Do you have cover or compensation if something is damaged during the work?

What drives the price of deep cleaning?

  • The size of the home and the number of rooms, bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Its condition and how long since the last deep clean.
  • The number of workers and hours needed.
  • Whether products and equipment are supplied by the company or by you.
  • Extras: sofas, carpets, exterior windows, the roof.
  • Timing: demand rises before Ramadan and Eid.

Deep cleaning: FAQ

What’s the difference between deep cleaning and regular cleaning?

Regular cleaning keeps a home tidy; deep cleaning reaches what has built up — inside cupboards, behind appliances, grout and limescale. Read the room-by-room deep cleaning checklist.

How often do I need a deep clean?

Once or twice a year is enough for many homes; homes in dusty areas or with children may need more.

Does it include sofa and carpet cleaning?

Usually not — it’s a separate service with dedicated machines. Add it as an extra in the form, or read about sofa and carpet cleaning.

Can I ask for a female team?

Yes — choose your team preference in the form; many companies provide female teams.

Do I need to be at home?

It’s best if a family member is there at least at the start and the end, to set priorities and check the work.

Can I book a deep clean before Ramadan?

Yes, but demand is high then, so book early. Read getting your home ready for Ramadan and Eid.
