1. When to book

The last weeks before Ramadan and the last days before Eid are the busiest times of year for cleaning companies. If you wait until the last days, you may not find a suitable slot, or only find times that don’t suit you.

So book your deep clean two or three weeks before Ramadan if you can, and book your pre-Eid clean in the second or third week of Ramadan. Give the date you want and how flexible you are in the request.

2. Before Ramadan: the deep clean

Before Ramadan is the right time for a thorough deep clean, because the home will host many guests and the kitchen will work for hours every day. Make sure the clean covers the whole kitchen, bathrooms, majlis rooms, and windows and tracks.

If sofas, floor seating and carpets need washing, this is the time, so they dry before guests start arriving. Read the deep cleaning checklist.

3. The kitchen before Ramadan

  • Degrease the cooker hood and filters, since they’ll work hard during Ramadan.
  • Clean and organise inside cupboards, making room for Ramadan supplies.
  • Clean the fridge and freezer inside once emptied.
  • Clean the oven, hob and the wall behind it.
  • Clean tiles, grout and the floor under appliances.

If grease is heavy, add kitchen degreasing from the extras. Read about kitchen and floor cleaning.

4. Majlis rooms and seating

The majlis is the heart of hosting in Ramadan and Eid, so give it attention: washing floor seating, sofas and carpets, cleaning curtains, wiping doors and frames, and cleaning light fittings.

If you have more than one majlis — for example one for men and one for women — mention it in the request with the seating and carpet area in each.

5. Guest bathrooms

Bathrooms used by guests need special care before the season: tiles, grout, basins, mirrors and accessories. They’re used heavily in Ramadan and Eid, so a light regular clean through the month helps.

6. Yards, entrances and roofs

The entrance is the first thing guests see, so clean the entrance, outdoor steps, yard and gate. If you host guests in outdoor seating in the yard or on the roof, clean it and its covers.

If a dust wave passed before Ramadan, yards and roofs may need extra washing. Read cleaning after sandstorms.

7. The tank before the month

Water use rises in Ramadan with cooking and guests, so if the tank hasn’t been cleaned for a long time, before Ramadan may be a good time. Read how often to clean a water tank.

8. During Ramadan: light regular cleaning

During the month you don’t need a deep clean, but a light regular clean to keep things in order: the kitchen after iftar, majlis rooms after guests, and bathrooms. You can agree weekly visits through the month with a company, or book hourly cleaning through a licensed provider.

Choose suitable times — many families prefer mornings or after Asr and avoid iftar and Taraweeh times. Give the preferred time in the form.

9. Cleaning on fasting days

Cleaning is tiring work, and on fasting days in the heat it’s more exhausting for workers. Keep that in mind: choose cooler times, provide a place to rest, and be realistic about how much you ask for in one visit.

If the workers aren’t fasting, provide drinking water. Respect and appreciation make the experience better for everyone.

10. Before Eid

In the last days of Ramadan demand rises again as families prepare for Eid. If the home was deep cleaned before Ramadan, a thorough regular clean before Eid may be enough: majlis rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, floors and the entrance.

Book early and give the date you want — the last days of the month fill up fast.

11. After Eid

After Eid and many visits, the home may need another clean: heavily used majlis rooms and seating, the kitchen after feasts, and bathrooms. Some families book a clean right after Eid, when demand returns to normal.

12. Safety tips

Never mix different cleaning products, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms — some combinations can release harmful fumes. Ventilate during and after cleaning, and keep products away from children, especially with many young visitors at Eid.

13. Large villas and rest houses

In large villas that host the extended family in Ramadan and Eid, the job is much bigger: more than one majlis, annexes, sometimes an outdoor kitchen, and wide yards. Mention all of it in the request so the company sends the right team — the work may take two days.

If the family gathers at a rest house during the holiday, clean it before the season too: outdoor seating, washrooms, the kitchen and the pool if there is one. Read about villa cleaning and what it usually covers.

After Eid

A post-visit clean of majlis rooms, the kitchen and bathrooms.

15. How to request offers

In the SaudiCleaning form, choose deep cleaning and add sofas and carpets, curtains and the tank from the extras. Give the date and time that suit you, and choose “flexible” if you can — it helps companies find you a slot in busy seasons. If you want regular visits through the month, choose weekly frequency.
